My mission is to bring sustainability to road construction! In a sector that has traditionally relied on unrenewable resources, my research shows that full re-use of old asphalt pavements is possible without losing any performance. To achieve this, we will have to adopt more sophisticated mixture design methods, develop new materials, and implement better material management procedures. I am developing such systems and as with all my research projects, I intend to bring the results all the way to practical implementation. I am also striving to improve communication in science. To help young scientists, I am authoring books on writing research papers, data visualization, presenting (on stage and online), writing research proposals, and finding an academic job.
