Rain tower manikin OLIVER
Device description and purpose
The rain tower manikin 'OLIVER' is a male-shaped manikin of 1.85m height, equipped with 22 conductance sensors to detect water penetration. The manikin is placed in a rain tower and exposed to a defined artificial sprinkling.
The rain tower manikin can be used to:
- Determine the water tightness of jackets and trousers of individual garments and complete clothing ensembles in accordance with relevant standards;
- Compare samples with earlier prototypes, competing products on the market, or target values specified in standards;
- Simulate customized, real-life scenarios to assess clothing performance under actual conditions of use.
