The overall objective of the Horizon Europe project quantiAGREMI is to enable a more reliable quantification of livestock emissions and allow policy makers assessing and establishing efficient mitigations strategies. Empa's contribution is mainly in two work packages:

1. to achieve SI-traceable quantification of NH₃ and GHG emissions from livestock housings;
2. to develop and validate an analytical procedure for N₂O isotope analysis by CRDS and to generate a dataset of N₂O emission in which the relative contributions of the process groups N (nitrification, abiotic production and fungal denitrification), as well as D (denitrification and nitrifier-denitrification) can be discerned.a
