Dr. Jonas Allerbeck

Postdoctoral Researcher nanotech@surfaces Laboratory

Jonas Allerbeck received his BSc and MSc from the University of Konstanz in Germany, focusing on condensed matter physics and ultrafast laser spectroscopy. As part of his studies, Jonas worked with research groups at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane (Australia) and at Colorado University in Boulder (USA), investigating nanoscale materials and developing a time-resolved scattering scanning near field microscopy system.
In 2020 Jonas received his PhD on the topic "Ultrafast Multidimensional Spectroscopy of Semiconductors and Strongly Correlated Materials" in the group of Prof. Dr. Alfred Leitenstorfer at the University of Konstanz. During his doctoral studies he developed cutting-edge spectroscopy systems, pushing the limits of sensitivity and resolution. Coherent multidimensional approaches significantly advance conventional technology and target many-body interaction in functional semiconductors and high-temperature superconductors. Following up with this activity, he joined the Ultrafast Condensed Matter Physics group by Prof. Dr. Daniele Brida at the University of Luxembourg as a Postdoctoral Researcher in 2020, setting up new research lines and designing novel ultrafast spectroscopy systems.
In August 2021 Jonas joined the nanotech@surfaces Laboratory as a Postdoctoral Researcher on the project 2D Quantum Materials lead by Dr. Bruno Schuler, investigating functional quantum materials and surfaces with atomic spatial and ultrafast temporal resolution.

Fields of interest
