Empa spin-off accepted for ESA BIC

Facilitating innovation in space

Mar 30, 2017 | GIULIA ADAGAZZA, ETH ZURICH

The ESA BIC Switzerland program is starting its second round with seven additional start-ups. Amongst others, the jury was won over by IRsweep, a spin-off from ETH Zurich and Empa. Using a spectrometer that utilises IR laser radiation, the start-up wants to make environmental analysis from space more precise. IRsweep is the second Empa spin-off that was selected for the ESA BIC program. TwingTec was selected in the first round in late 2016.
