The Fiber Society, founded in 1941, is incorporated as a nonprofit professional and scientific association. Its objective is the advancement of scientific knowledge pertaining to fibers, fiber based products, and fibrous materials. The Fiber Society comprises individuals who are chemists, physicists, engineers, and designers with interests in the field of fiber science engineering and technology. The Fiber Society holds two technical meetings each year, either in the form of a general technical conference or in the form of a symposium on a specialized topic. Attendance at Society meetings is open to all persons interested in the field. Attendance of students, academic faculties, and industrial researchers is particularly encouraged.
