Operation of the ehub platform

The ehub platform consists of a wide variety of components, three thermal networks, three electrical grids and two gas grids. Depending on the research question at hand, all available components can be controlled separately or in concert. This enables individual technologies to be used, analyzed and improved in ehub or whole energy concepts to be assessed.

Maintaining the operability of this platform and extending it according to the needs of research, is a core task of our group. We provide support for researchers such that results out of simulation environments can be transferred and adapted easily to our hardware-, and human-in-loop-systems. Connectivity to historical data and the possibility to control all actuators on the Empa demonstrators is ensured by the ehub group.
