Remote Sensing

Remote sensing has revolutionized our understanding of the distribution and sources of air pollutants and greenhouse gases. We develop retrieval algorithms for mapping trace gases from satellites and airborne platforms. We specialize in the quantification of anthropogenic emissions at regional to urban scales and support the development of new satellite instruments with observing system simulation experiments.

We are part of the Atmospheric Modelling and Remote Sensing group at the Empa Laboratory for Air Pollution / Environmental Technology.
