Lorenzo Valzania

Lorenzo Valzania completed a Master’s degree in Engineering Physics at the Polytechnic University of Milan (Milan, Italy), working on simulations of X-ray diffraction contrast tomography experiments at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF, Grenoble, France), supervised by Dr. W. Ludwig.

In June 2019 he obtained a PhD in Physics, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. T. Feurer (Institute of Applied Physics, University of Bern) and Dr. E. Hack (Transport at Nanoscale Interfaces LaboratorySwiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology), working on the development and implementation of coherent lensless imaging techniques using terahertz radiation.

After receiving an Early Postdoc Mobility Fellowship from the Swiss National Science Foundation, in September 2019 he moved to the Kastler Brossel Laboratory, at the Physics Department of the École Normale Supérieure (Paris, France). Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. S. Gigan (Complex Media Optics Lab, Kastler Brossel Laboratory), he is working on computational imaging techniques to see inside and through scattering materials.
