Raymond Amador

PhD Student

Raymond Amador obtained his BS from the University of Miami in Florida, US, where he studied Applied Mathematics and Physics. His bachelor thesis was written under the supervision of Prof. Massimiliano Galeazzi in experimental astrophysics. After short stints teaching English in Seville, Spain, and working in energy consulting in Philadelphia, PA, US (his hometown), he relocated to Berlin, DE, obtaining his MS in Physics at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. His master thesis was supervised by Prof. Caterina Cocchi and Prof. Thorsten Kamps, studying novel photocathode materials using ab-initio methods. In March 2021, he began his PhD at the nanotech@surfaces Laboratory at Empa to investigate enantioselectivity in chemical reactions.
