Kristjan Eimre received his BSc and MSc degrees from the University of Tartu in Estonia. His thesis works were done at the Intelligent Materials and Systems Laboratory, where he studied copper surface defects mainly by using the finite element method. Kristjan joined the nanotech@surfaces Laboratory at Empa as a PhD student in September 2017, where his work is focused on studying novel graphene nanostructures with atomistic simulation methods.
