Dr. Chenxiao Zhao

Postdoctoral Researcher nanotech@surfaces Laboratory

Chenxiao Zhao received his PhD degree in Condensed Matter Physics in 2020 from Shanghai Jiaotong University (China). During the period of doctoral research, he mainly worked with a combined system with scanning tunneling microscopy and molecular beam epitaxy to study low dimensional materials including 2D topological insulators and topological superconductors, layered transition metal dichalcogenides, and some confined material systems such as nano-island and nano-particles under the supervision of Prof. Jinfeng Jia. In February 2021, he joined the nanotech@surfaces Laboratory at Empa as postdoctoral researcher. His focus is on the magnetic properties of nano graphene and spin chains as well as their combination with superconductors.
