Research

My research focus is remote sensing and modelling of air pollutants and greenhouses gases. I am interested in the spatial and temporal distribution of atmospheric trace gases and their emissions.

Air pollution remote sensing

Cities are hot spots of air pollution emissions due to their high populution density. We use the airborne APEX imaging spectromer to map the NO2 distribution in cities. The remote sensing data are combined with city-scale transport simulations and 3D radiative transfer modelling.

Greenhouse gas imaging satellites

The Copernicus CO2 Monitoring (CO2M) satellite mission is a planned constellation of CO2 and CH4 imaging satellites that are the satellite component of the European emission monitoring and verification system.
