CALL FOR ENTRIES

We are delighted to invite you sumbit your examples of aerogel use in architecture, construction - refurbishment and monument preservation. We are searching for top realized projects of refurbishment from Austria, Germany and Switzerland to showcase the best projects of architects and civil engineers. The best project selected by jury will be shortlisted for our Aerogel Architecture Awards ceremony hosted near Zurich at NEST Empa campus, which will give broad recognition to project. Projects will be published in relevant international publications and portals. The award celebrate the best projects with regards to energy efficiency, unconventional solutions, high performing buildings solutions with use of superinulating aerogel materials.

SUBMISSION CONDITIONS
Projects should be from DACH countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). Architectural or Civil engineering studio can be located anywhere. Award is communicated in English. Projects should be no older than 3 years. Project can be submitted also by studios from abroad, if the projects are located DACH countries.  Highly encouraged are to submit realized projects of refurbishment, protected buildings which energy efficiency was upgraded using aerogel insulation materials. New renovation examples can show how existing buildings can be refurbished or cultural heritage maintained using aerogel insulation materials. Winners will be invited to Switzerland for announcement event, which will take place at the Nest building/Empa campus Duebendorf. The winners will receive memorial statue and shortly introduce the project within ca. 10 minutes. Please send a ZIP or RAR file (max. 20MB) on email: michal.ganobjak@empa.ch till the submission deadline.  Files for download (poster layout).

  • 1 PDF A1 size poster (landscape) with plans, section, photographs and linear drawings (layout for download)
  • 1 MS Word *.docx document with description ca. 300 words of the project (text can be on the poster)
  • 1-3 pcs JPEG - cover photos of the project, which will be used in media and webpages, high resolution
  • 1x detail of use of aerogel based insulation (on the poster), linear technical drawing with emphasized aerogel part (Blue RGB – 95,183,215) and list of materials
  • Fill the survey on aerogel use in buildings (link below).
