ETH Zurich has appointed Inge Katrin Herrmann as Assistant Professor for Nanoparticle Systems Engineering. The researcher heads the group "Particles 4D" in Empa's Particles-Biology Interactions lab.

Inge Katrin Herrmann has been appointed Assistant Professor for Nanoparticular Systems by ETH Zurich. Her research at Empa focuses on the synthesis, characterisation and functionalisation of nanoparticles, microscopy, spectroscopy and translational nanomedicine. Together with clinical and academic partners, she develops particle-based solutions in the fields of disease etiology, diagnostics and drug release. With the appointment of Inge Katrin Herrmann, the ETH department of Mechanical and Process Engineering expands its research portfolio. The assistant professorship is fully financed by the funds raised from the Swiss National Science Foundation for an SNSF Eccellenza Professorial Fellowship.
