In the module 'Bioresponsive Model Systems' we develop need-driven biological, biomechanical and numerical model systems representing microbiological environments, human tissues and organs, including physiological characteristics of the entire body. This expertise will form the unique framework that allows us to develop materials-based innovative and personalized health solutions.
Striving to understand the interaction of living systems and materials, we develop and apply a wide range of models including primary cells, multi-cellular organoids, bio-physical models or numerical simulations.
This enables us to assess biological responses already at an early stage in the development of materials and devices, to align pre-clinical and clinical research, and to accelerate the development cycles.
