Building Acoustics

The Building Acoustics Group of the Acoustics Laboratories is involved with problems of sound propagation from outdoors to inside of buildings as well as propagation of sound generated within the buildings themselves. Various accredited tests of the acoustical properties of building elements and materials are performed in EMPA's modern test facilities. In addition, tests (likewise accredited) of acoustical transmission properties and plumbing noises in buildings are carried out.
