About Ourselves

In Switzerland, the Acoustics Laboratory is the leader in specialized areas of acoustics and noise abatement, including research, testing, transfer of knowledge and consulting. Their partners and clients stem from government, the scientific and economic communities.

The goals of the laboratory is research and development and the advancing and transfer of knowledge in acoustics, particularly with respect to noise abatement in Switzerland. In the area of building acoustics the technical fundamentals of noise abatement in structures is set forth and demanding investigations are undertaken toward promoting high living quality and well-being. In environmental acoustics calculation models and measurement procedures for outdoor sound propagation are developed. In addition, research is performed concerning the influence of weather. The unique aircraft noise calculation is being further refined and complex calculations are performed. In vibroacoustics contributions are made toward EMPA's program of adaptive material systems.
