We invite you with pleasure to take a look at the remarkably wide range of Empa’s activities. Most of the projects presented here were performed in the course of the work of one of our five Research Programs. All the projects have one aim in common; to strengthen and boost innovation for Swiss industry and at the same time to help to improve the quality of life for the public at large. In doing so we fulfill our bridging role, providing a link between the generation of scientific knowledge and its implementation for practical applications. Annual Report 2004

2004 was a particularly successful year. Our scientific and technical results were presented in about 200 refereed papers published in such reputable professional journals as «Nature«».
