Once again, on June 28th und 29th 2007, Empa invites the «nano-community» to the «Swiss NanoConvention 2007» in the Kursaal Bern.
According to Empa-CEO Louis Schlapbach the aim of the event is to further strengthen the Nano-Dialog in Switzerland beyond the boundaries of individual fields of scientific speciality. It will also offer a platform for topical lectures and discussions, and will act as a «Networking Platform» and «Scientific Marketplace». As a result of the overwhelming interest generated by last years event, this time the NanoConvention is spread over two days. Themes such as the fascinating advances in the nanosciences as well as nanotech-nological applications in the fields of medical and biotechnology, textiles and micro- and nanoelectronics will be illuminated and analyzed in so-called «Topical Sessions». The opportunities and risks offered by the new technologies will be discussed, and speakers will dare to predict future trends. In addition, sig-nificant time will be devoted to debating and analyzing the economic and financial aspects of nanotech-nology.
