At the Empa we are well under way in the creation and transfer of knowledge. The proof of this lies in the 60 doctoral projects currently in progress, the 120 or more publications in refereed SCI/SCIE journals, and a number of developments which have led to patent applications. Our aim one publication each year per member of the scientific staff seems to be within our grasp.
Knowledge transfer to our partners in dialog takes place by various means. For the exchange of information with the international scientific and technological community, we prefer the well established methods of scientific knowledge dissemination: publishing new results in refereed journals, authoring books, presenting lectures at scientific meetings, and teaching activities including doctoral student projects. Just as important to us, though, is the cultivation of contacts with our partners in the public sector, private enterprise, politics and administration in fact to all groups who actively contribute to the process of converting Empas knowledge into sustainable solutions for the common benefit of our society.
This Annual report provides an insight into a part of our activities and our results for all of them.
